Update on Lonsdale’s Grande Day Parade
The day was perfect. Sunshine, temps in the low 80’s, and some scattered clouds, that when the sun hid behind them, occasionally cooled the visitors. Meagan and I door knocked for a couple of hours before the start of the Grande Day Parade and we were met by a surprising number of supporters. Just as advertised, the parade started promptly at 2:00 PM and the streets were filled with parade watchers. Prior to the start of the event our re-election committee was fortunate enough to be joined by Steve Sarvi, the DFL endorsed candidate for Congress for the 2nd Congressional District and his election committee. Steve is the “Real Deal.” Having a chance to meet him and discuss some issues with him, I found him extremely personable and genuine. He is a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in Kosovo and Iraq. People of the 2nd Congressional District will be served very well with the addition of Steve Sarvi to the House of Representatives.
The parade lasted about an hour and Steve and I enjoyed our chance to meet and greet many of the numerous visitors lining the parade route. We were also joined in the parade by Sharyl Murphy, her
sister Shelley and friend Judy and their birds to add color to our group.
Once again, as is usually the case with these small local events, the Lonsdale Community Days Committee should be commended for organizing a wonderful event. Steve and I want to thank you for the chance to participate and we look forward to returning to this event year after year.

I would like to hear from you. Please
