Congratulations to Kevin Dahle and his campaign team for their success in the upset win in the special election for the District 25 State Senate seat on January 3rd. Defeating former Republican State Rep. Ray Cox of Northfield means Dahle will replace Sen. Tom Neuville, R-Northfield, who stepped down after Gov. Tim Pawlenty appointed him to the bench last fall.
The effort put forth by the Dahle for Senate team was extraordinary. In less than one month, a time frame determined by Gov. Pawlenty, Kevin knocked on doors, prepared fliers, held numerous meetings, debated, and talked to a wide variety of individuals in order to get his message out – a message that convinced voters he was the best candidate. And It Worked!
The Secretary of State website shows Kevin Dahle with 55 percent of the votes to Cox's 42 percent. Independent candidate Vance Norgaard took 2 percent.
Vance was a good addition to the debate, bringing up some issues that otherwise might not have received a hearing.
Kevin Dahle will be a great Senator and will represent all District 25 citizens with the same vigor he demonstrated in his first successful election campaign. I am looking forward to serving with Kevin in the Legislature.
