Maynard’s on Lake Minnetonka — Guided fishing for military families & Wounded Warriors — Free picnic lunch — Fishing contest for youth with trophies & medals — Boats & equipment provided Sponsored by: Twin Cities Muskies Inc and Maynard’s on Lake Minnetonka
This event is located on Lake Minnetonka and is exclusively for youth & their families who have had a family member in the Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Marines, National Guard, etc), as well as for Wounded Warriors and veterans recently returned from deployment.Volunteer fishing guides bring their boats to the lake and bring participants out on the water for a great morning of fishing action, for this they need a boating license they can get online. Lake Minnetonka has strong populations of game fish species such as bass, northern pike, walleye, panfish, and muskie. So versatile fishing rods paired with ultralight spinning reels may get more bites than any specialized tackle.
Schedule: Participants should arrive between 6:30 and 7 am for registration and free donuts. (Youth under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.) A delicious lunch will be provided by Maynards, followed by an awards ceremony with trophies and medals for participants. The event ends at 1:00 pm.
