Thursday, I went to an Energy Forum at St. Olaf, sponsored by RENew Northfield, St. Olaf PAC and other St. Olaf Student Organizations.
Mike Bull, Northfield resident and one of our state’s primier energy wonks (Legislative Analyst for House Regulated Industries Committee, and is also working on ethanol in Gov. Pawlenty’s adminstration) came late and left early, but that’s OK because he knows it all, he literally writes much of the energy law in our state.
Scott Schumacher was there and he had a lot of questions about solar.
Do you have questions about Solar too? Minnesota’s Dept. of Commerce has a Solar Energy program. They have a solar primer to get you started:
Here’s their general site with a lot of info: click here
Scott had wanted to know what programs there were that promoted solar, and here’s the info on the state’s solar rebate program.
As always, ME3 is a good resource too
If you want to learn enough about solar to do it yourself, the Midwest Renewable Energy Association is the place to go. They have a solar tour to get an idea what’s possible:
MREA also has hands on workshops to learn everything you ever wanted to know about solar:
Their events calendar includes submissions from many organizations and include a PV Design class online, Solar Design online, a PV Seminar, and best of all, a weeklong wind workshop in Costa Rica in February
